Chelsea to sign ANOTHER goalkeeper?! Blues in talks over Genk's Mike Penders despite confirming Filip Jorgensen transfer

Per journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the Blues are in advanced talks to sign Genk's young custodian Penders in the ongoing summer transfer window. The Premier League side are reportedly offering a transfer fee of €20m (£16m) and a percentage of future resale to the Belgian side. The custodian, however, will be sent back on loan to Genk and will only be appearing for the Blues from the 2025/26 campaign.

Chelsea are looking to bolster their goalkeeping position in the current window. They have already completed the signing of Denmark international Jorgensen from La Liga side Villarreal for €24.5m (£20m) as they look to provide competition to Robert Sanchez for the No.1 spot in the upcoming season.

19-year-old Penders did not play a single game for the Genk senior side in the 2023/24 campaign, however, he made 25 appearances for the club's reserves side in the Challenger Pro League.

Enzo Maresca's side will be next seen in action on Wednesday as they take on Mexican side Club America in a pre-season friendly at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
