Long way to go before he can replace Kane in England
Delap has a goal and an assist in the Club World Cup
Delap completed his move to Stamford Bridge at the end of the 2024-25 Premier League campaign as the Blues agreed to trigger his £30 million ($41m) release clause. After signing for the West London side, he was immediately included in the team's travelling squad for the Club World Cup in the US.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
In his debut match against LAFC, Delap came off the bench and provided an assist as Chelsea won the clash 2-0. He then featured in Maresca's starting lineup in the next three matches and even scored his first goal for the club against ES Tunis in their final group stage game. Despite Delap's solid start to his journey with the Blues, Gallas advised the fans to remain calm before jumping to any conclusions over the striker's abilities.
WHAT GALLAS SAID
Speaking to Prime Casino, who offer the latest online slots, Gallas said: "People are saying Liam Delap is Harry Kane’s replacement - but he’s still got a long way to go and people need to relax over him. He did well for Ipswich, but there’s more pressure now and we’ll have to wait and see how he handles it."
