Chelsea forced to call police to Cobham training ground after £30k worth of camera equipment goes missing

According to The Sun,the equipment was discovered missing while several staff members were still away on summer holiday. There is still a chance that the gear was merely stored incorrectly and will resurface once the full team reconvenes. However, the nature and value of the items involved have made the situation suspicious enough to warrant a full investigation.

 In recent years, several Chelsea players have been targeted by burglars in the Surrey area. Raheem Sterling was among the most notable victims when his family home was broken into in December 2022 while he was representing England at the World Cup in Qatar. Thieves managed to steal approximately £300,000 worth of luxury watches during the burglary.

Club captain Reece James also had his home broken into in December 2021 while he was away playing in a Champions League match. In that instance, the burglars made off with a safe containing invaluable personal memorabilia, including the Champions League winner’s medal from that same season and his Euro 2020 runners-up medal earned with England.

The man behind Sterling's home invasion, Albanian national Emiliano Krosi, was later convicted for his role in the crime. He was sentenced to over 11 years in prison, not only for the Sterling burglary but also for a spree of 32 similar offences across South East England. 

Chelsea have so far remained tight-lipped about the missing equipment. They are currently preparing for two more friendlies against Bayer Leverkusen and AC Milan on August 8 and 10 before they begin their Premier League campaign against Crystal Palace on August 17 at Stamford Bridge.
