Getty ImagesWHAT HAPPENED?
Barcelona dropped a two-goal aggregate lead against Paris Saint-Germain in their Champions League quarter-final clash after Araujo was shown a red card for a last-man tackle on Bradley Barcola. After the loss, Gundogan appeared to criticise the Uruguayan defender for his part in Barca's loss during a press conference. A few days later, Araujo appeared to bite back at the veteran midfielder.
WHAT ARAUJO SAID
Speaking after Barcelona's 3-2 loss to Real Madrid, Araujo said to the media [via BarcaBlaugranes]: "It’s all clarified with Ilkay Gundogan, I spoke to him and he apologised. It’s all good. It’s been a sad week, but I’m strong mentally. I work hard for that and that is why I was able to get to this club. There is nothing to say about how much I give on the field, everyone knows that I cannot be reprimanded [about giving it all] on the pitch."

As per Toni Juanmarti of SPORT, Deco also revealed that the club and the players had met up and internally resolved the situation before it escalated. Xavi Hernandez will be happy to see the issue resolved as he is already dealing with issues on the field after Barcelona were all but confirmed to be set to go trophyless this season after falling 11 points behind Real Madrid with the 3-2 loss against the league leaders.
WHAT NEXT FOR BARCELONA?
The Catalans will now take on Valencia at the Estadi Olimpic on Monday, April 29 as they will look to secure their spot in second on the table with Girona hot on their tails just two points of their points tally.
