Is Andrey Santos back at Chelsea already!? Team sheet mix-up sees Brazilian midfielder’s loan at Nottingham Forest cut short

The highly-rated Brazilian midfielder, who is yet to make his competitive debut for the Blues, left Stamford Bridge for the City Ground during the summer transfer window. The plan is for the highly-rated 19-year-old to get much-needed game time while in the East Midlands.

Santos has figured in the Carabao Cup for Forest, while he waits on his first Premier League minutes, but appeared to be in line for more game time in domestic cup competition when the team sheets dropped ahead of Chelsea’s third-round clash with Brighton on Wednesday.

Santos was included in Chelsea’s starting XI, despite not being on the club’s books at present, with there confusion as to who is filling the Blues’ No.20 shirt this season. That jersey actually belongs to £40 million ($49m) summer signing Cole Palmer.

Chelsea have high hopes for Santos, having done a deal with Vasco de Gama back in January and seen him inspire Brazil to South American U20 Championship glory, and the west London giants have him tied to a long-term contract through to 2030.
