‘I am what I am’ – Alisha Lehmann will not change for anyone as Swiss star sends another defiant message to any detractors

The Switzerland international boasts a loyal legion of followers, but is also aware that anybody operating in the public eye will always attract criticism. Lehmann is no different and has made a point of delivering a nod towards any detractors.

Lehmann recently hit back at those questioning her decision to wear make-up when taking to the football field, with the 25-year-old eager to look and feel good every time she's on the pitch. She makes no apologies for that and remains a role model to millions around the world.

Lehmann continues to revel in that role, as a prominent figure in the women’s game, and is looking to set an example to those who may be left questioning their worth at times. The Swiss star has posted on Instagram alongside an image of herself in action for her country: “I am what I am and what I will be."

Lehmann, who has rekindled her relationship with fellow Villa star Douglas Luiz, is currently in Euro 2025 qualification action. She will be back on a domestic stage with her WSL employers when the Villans take in a trip to title-chasing Chelsea on April 17.
