Slot, in his pre-match press conference, couldn’t hide his excitement at having Isak in his squad for the Champions League clash with Diego Simeone’s battle-hardened Atletico. “There is definitely a chance, because he is in the squad,” Slot told reporters.

The only thing that is sure is he will not play 90, and all the rest you will see tomorrow.”

While the spotlight burns brightest on Isak, Slot also revealed that Curtis Jones will once again sit out. The midfielder missed the Burnley trip and isn’t fit in time for the Spanish side's visit. “He will train with the team tomorrow so hopefully he is able to be in the squad on Saturday,” said Slot. “But not for tomorrow yet.”
