Biography: My journalism skills were sharpened at the prestigious Kenya Institute of Mass Communication before Moi University filled a few gaps. I have worked for several big Radio stations in Kenya, as well as Tanzania's Azam TV, and sports magazine. Well, I have been at home, here at GOAL, since 2015, and the best part is I cover the game I love, football, in Mzansi and African football at large.

My Football Story: I support the biggest team in London, Arsenal, and the best team in South Africa, Kaizer Chiefs. I have played competitive football in Kenya, where I turned out for a fourth-tier side, playing alongside some big names like former Harambee Star Innocent Mutiso. My love for journalism made me avoid the top tiers during my prime.

Areas of Expertise:

The Premier Soccer League, South Africa

The Kenyan Premier League

African Football

Arsenal

Favourite Football Memory: Well, let's forget about me playing against the then Dylan Kerr-led Gor Mahia, who beat my team 7-0 a couple of years ago! The most recent memory was seeing El Capitan Yusuf Maart scoring that winning goal against Orlando Pirates in the 2024/25 Nedbank Cup final! Oh my! I had waited for a decade to celebrate Chiefs' triumph in a major competition.

  1. Sekhukhune 0-2 Sundowns: 'Even Chiefs can't play mud game like this! Downs games should be sleeping pills'

The Brazilians left it late to deny their hosts at least a point and break the hearts of Orlando Pirates fans who had hoped to see their team go top of the table with a win this weekend. However, it left a lot to be desired as the defending champions struggled to break Eric Tinkler's men at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane. The win opened a three-point gap ahead of second-placed Bucs.

With a couple of months remaining to end the campaign, teams are desperate to meet their targets.

The Soweto giants have been one of the Premier Soccer League teams that have not been active in strengthening their squad. However, they have made a vital decision that will see them continue pushing for the major honors as well as set a strong foundation for the new campaign. Apart from the domestic competitions, Amakhosi are chasing the CAF Confederation Cup.

  4. 'It didn't want to go inside' - Ouaddou blames the ball after Pirates and Sekhukhune draw

The Sea Robbers failed to collect maximum points against Sekhukhune United at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium, which saw them fail to get on top of the Premier Soccer League table. It is a slow start to the year, which was not anticipated by their faithful owing to their strong run in domestic competitions before the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) break.

  1. Shaky Downs held by Al-Hilal! 'Williams diving like Sarafina's Dragon, but Leon is like Chiefs' Gonzalez'

Masandawana's quest to get maximum points against Blue Wave was unsuccessful as they ended up not capitalising on the home ground advantage. This was their second game in a row in Group C that they have failed to collect maximum points following their 0-0 draw with MC Alger of Rhulani Mokwena in Matchday two. The Brazilians have now managed a win and two draws in their pool.

  2. Chiefs blast reports of loan offer for Aziz Ki

The Glamour Boys have reportedly been chasing the experienced and versatile attacker for a couple of years now. He, however, left Young Africans of Tanzania for the former Rhulani Mokwena club, initially on loan, before the Botola Pro League side made his deal permanent. He is one of the quality players on the continent, explaining why Amakhosi have been repeatedly linked to him. However, those links have been put to bed in emphatic style by the club's head of recruitment.

  3. Cardoso: 'Mothiba could not last the match' as Leon's impact at Sundowns is debated

The defending Premier Soccer League champions put up a decent shift to claim maximum points against the Mswenko Boys in their first game of the year, staged at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Tuesday night. The victory took Masandawana past Orlando Pirates in the log. The Brazilians now hope to sustain their form all the way to the end of the 2025/26 season.
