The Florida State Seminoles (3-3) hit the road this Saturday to take on the Stanford Cardinal (2-4) at Stanford Stadium in a key ACC showdown.

The Seminoles kicked off the season in spectacular fashion, storming out of the gates with a three-game winning streak. It started with a statement 31-17 upset of then-No. 8 Alabama, followed by an absolute demolition of East Texas A&M, 77-3, in Week 2. After a Week 3 bye, Florida State rolled over Kent State 66-10, looking like a team firing on all cylinders.

But the tide has turned sharply. Florida State has dropped three consecutive contests, all tight affairs. The Seminoles fell 46-38 in a gut-wrenching double-overtime loss at Virginia, then suffered home heartbreaks against No. 3 Miami (28-22) and Pittsburgh (34-31), unable to close out either game.

Stanford, meanwhile, has been a rollercoaster this season, alternating wins and losses over their last four outings. The Cardinal picked up home victories against Boston College (30-20) and San Jose State (30-29), but struggled on the road, getting throttled by Virginia (48-20) and SMU (34-10). While the yardage battle was tight, 369-353 in favor of the Mustangs, turnovers proved costly — Stanford lost the battle, 2-0. Add in 10 penalties for 95 yards, and it was another sloppy showing that leaves plenty for the Cardinal to clean up before facing Florida State.
