Carolina Panthers vs Denver Broncos Team News

Carolina Panthers Team News

The biggest storyline in Charlotte is a coaching shakeup on defense. Following a 27-19 loss to the Packers, Todd Wash has been promoted to interim defensive coordinator to handle play-calling duties. Wash’s immediate directive is to salvage a heavily depleted run defense.

Bryce Young (QB) (Ankle): After managing a knee issue for a month, Young is now listed with an ankle injury. However, he logged full practice sessions on Wednesday and Thursday and is fully expected to start.
Brady Christensen (OL) (Hamstring): The veteran guard has officially had his 21-day practice window opened after spending the first half of the season on IR. He was a full participant on Thursday and says he is ready to go, offering massive reinforcement to a line missing three starters.
Offensive Line Upgrades: Guard Corey Bullock (Quadriceps) and reserve Torricelli Simpkins III (Ankle) both upgraded to full participation on Thursday, bringing stability to an over-pressured front.

Key Defensive Absences (DNP on Thursday)

Jaelan Phillips (OLB) (Hamstring) and Trevis Gipson Sr. (OLB) (Personal): Did not practice.
Bobby Okereke (LB) (Foot) and rookie Will Lee III (CB): Remain sidelined.
Akayleb Evans (C) is on IR: Chau Smith-Wade will step up as the starting cornerback.

Denver Broncos Team News

Head Coach Sean Payton has his team focused on blocking out distractions ahead of their Week 10 bye. While the offense ranks near the bottom of the league statistically, Payton’s ground-focused play-calling and the heroics of Bo Nix (who leads the NFL in game-winning drives) have manufactured a four-game winning streak.

Safety Secondary Concerns: The safety room is highly volatile this week. Talanoa Hufanga (Ankle) returned to practice on a limited basis for the first time in a month. However, fellow starter Brandon Jones (Hamstring) sat out his second consecutive practice on Thursday. If Jones cannot clear protocols, Taylor Rapp or Devon Key will step into the starting lineup.

Pat Bryant (WR) (Ankle): Bryant has been officially designated to return from IR. He recorded full practices on Wednesday and Thursday and is highly likely to be activated Saturday to join Courtland Sutton and Jaylen Waddle.

Other DNPs: Defensive lineman Eyioma Uwazurike (Shoulder) and reserve corner Kris Abrams-Draine (Ankle) missed Thursday’s practice, threatening Denver’s defensive line depth ahead of the matchup.
