'We've got no chance!' - Kyle Walker defends Man City stars' nightclub celebrations as Pep Guardiola's side suffer FA Cup final defeat to Man Utd

After winning the Premier League title last weekend, City celebrated in extravagant fashion, heading to a nightclub and emerging bleary-eyed in the morning after an evening of partying. Just a week later, against United, City lost 2-1, seeing their dreams of a double go up in smoke.

Walker, though, has defended their decision to celebrate, and insists it had absolutely no impact on their performance at Wembley. Indeed, he has also claimed that the "moment was right" after confirming their status as historic champions, having won the title for the fourth season in a row.

Walker told reporters: "We celebrated on Sunday, this is Saturday. It's six days. If us athletes can't recover in six days we've got no chance for everyone. We had to take that moment on Sunday, because if we're celebrating now on a downer it won't feel right. The moment was right, the club, the players and staff made that decision. Let's not blame that. It's down to us as players who played that 97 minutes."

City will celebrate their fourth Premier League title in a row with an open-top bus parade, although they will not be able to show off the FA Cup and the Champions League as they did last term.
