After months of rumours and ideas, this time Barcelona have started getting serious in their attempt to prise the Argentine centre-forward away from Inter.
An analysis carried out by LaLiga examines the relationship between the international successes achieved by Spanish clubs and national teams across their various categories over the past decade, and the Spanish model based on investing in the development of young talent.
Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has expressed his immense satisfaction following the club's successful pursuit of Rodri, describing the midfielder as a transformational addition to his squad. The German tactician believes the Spanish international brings a unique set of skills that will elevate the entire team's performance as they prepare for the new campaign.
Rodri's move from Manchester City to Barcelona looks like a humiliation for Real Madrid. After all, the capital club had previously made great efforts to sign the midfielder, but in the end Rodri decided in favour of Barcelona. But Real coach Jose Mourinho does not accept that interpretation.
New details have emerged regarding the intense transfer battle for Rodri, revealing that Real Madrid attempted to land the Manchester City superstar with a surprisingly low financial package. While the Ballon d'Or winner has now been officially unveiled at the Spotify Camp Nou, the 15-time European champions were reportedly well off the pace with their valuation of the Spanish anchor.
