Winless in their opening three games, Borussia Monchengladbach fired manager Gerardo Seoane, the club announced Monday. The squad, which features two USMNT players - Gio Reyna and Joe Scally - is reportedly interested in another American, Pellegrino Matarazzo, as the replacement. Matarazzo was Hoffenheim's manager until the start of the 2024-25 season.
Gio Reyna has been told what he must do in order to make the USMNT World Cup squad, with the highly-rated playmaker determined to grace a major tournament on home soil in the summer of 2026. Questions are still being asked of his involvement after suffering “injury after injury after injury”, but Brad Friedel is among those backing the 22-year-old to come good.
USMNT and Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder Gio Reyna has joined the ownership group of Fort Lauderdale United FC. The South Florida club fields a women’s side in the USL Super League and plans to launch a men’s team in USL League One next season. Its latest investment round pushes the club’s valuation to $55 million.
