Video: Al-Aboud leads Al-Ittihad to a thrilling victory over Al-Hazm

In the 27th minute of the first half, French star Moussa Diaby squandered a golden opportunity for Al-Ittihad after receiving the ball in front of an open goal, but he shot wide of the post.

Frenchman Moussa Diaby, the star player for Al-Ittihad Jeddah, got his team into trouble after violently fouling Al-Hazm’s Abdulrahman Al-Dakhil in the 33rd minute of the match.

The referee initially showed Diaby a yellow card, before the assistant referee informed him that the incident warranted a red card, which deprived Al-Ittihad of their French player’s services.

Al-Ittihad were awarded a penalty in the second half of the match following a challenge between Hossam Awar and an Al-Hazm defender, but the VAR prompted the referee to review the incident.

The referee decided to overturn the penalty and award possession to Al-Hazm after confirming that there had been no foul on Awar, who had fallen on his own inside the Al-Hazm penalty area.

Abdulrahman Al-Aboud scored the winning goal for Al-Ittihad in the 72nd minute of the match, after receiving a superb pass from Hossam Awar, which put him one-on-one with Al-Hazm’s goalkeeper, before slotting the ball into the net with a precise low shot.
