After featuring in all six of the USWNT's CONCACAF W Gold Cup matches earlier this year, she picked up an injury and has been sidelined since. Speaking to the Philadelphia Enquirer, the 28-year-old shared details on a timeline for her return to the pitch.
GettyLavelle was one of the most sought after free agents this past winter, and she opted to sign with the Bats alongside fellow U.S. internationals Emily Sonnett, Tierna Davidson and Crystal Dunn - all of whom also featured in the W Gold Cup.
Without Lavelle available, the Bats have struggled to start the campaign, obtaining just four points through their first three matches of the season. They sit seventh in the NWSL standings, and will continue to be without Lavelle until at least May, it seems.
“I’m doing good — I’m hoping I’ll be back in the next couple weeks,” Lavelle said. “It’s frustrating to start the year off with an injury, just because I feel like you come off preseason and you’re revving to go, so it’s so annoying.”

The U.S. will take on South Korea on June 1 and 4 in matches stateside under their new boss. Gotham, meanwhile, take on the Washington Spirit and Trinity Rodman on Saturday as they look to secure three more crucial points.
