By opting for The Lowry Hotel, in Salford, Greater Manchester, Amorim has decided to follow in the footsteps of former United boss Mourinho, who famously stayed at the hotel for 895 days during his tenure at Old Trafford and racked up a £500,000 bill.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
The Lowry is located just a short drive from Old Trafford and is also within easy distance of United's Carrington training complex. While known for its plush accommodation - the Presidential Suite costs £4,000 a night - it's just a temporary home for Amorim; he's already house hunting so he can bring his wife and their two sons to Manchester.
WHAT A SOURCE SAID
"Amorim wants to get his family over and set up their own home," a United source told the Daily Mail. "The Hale and Bowdon area has been mentioned where his captain [Bruno] Fernandes lives and many of the players. It is just a short drive to the training ground.
"He could move into [Erik] ten Hag’s old place or even Paul Pogba’s place. But he is in The Lowry for the moment. He has walked round the city a bit and had a coffee in a few of the cafes. Perhaps he’ll bump into Pep Guardiola or even a few [Manchester] City players who have places nearby."

WHAT NEXT FOR AMORIM?
The former Sporting CP boss watched his new side draw 1-1 in his first game in charge. He'll hope to record his first win when United take on Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League on Thursday.
