Revealed: Mohamed Salah's staggering new salary after penning two-year contract extension with Liverpool - as Egyptian moves on par with Man City star

The Egyptian hero put an end to fears he would leave the Reds in a free transfer in the summer when he finally put pen to paper on a new deal that was announced on Friday.

The Premier League's top scorer has accepted a significant increase to his weekly wage, taking it up to £400,000 from £350,000, The Sunreports. That puts him on the same pay as Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne, with the pair still behind highest-paid star Erling Haaland, who is on £500,000 per week.

Salah, 32, is exoected to win the Golden Boot again this season as he sits top of the Premier League goal chart with 27 goals - six more than nearest challenger Haaland. He is also the current assist king of the top-flight with 17 - seven more than Bukayi Saka, Antonee Robinson and Mikkel Damsgaard.

Salah and his Liverpool co-stars are aiming to preserve their 11-point lead at the top of the league when they host West Ham on Sunday.
