Mia Khalifa makes bizarre 9/11 comment amid romantic links to Atletico Madrid's Julian Alvarez as ex-porn star confirms relationship status

Alvarez found himself the subject of bizarre rumours from Italy and Spain that he is dating media personality and former adult film star Khalifa. This is despite the 24-year-old being in a relationship with childhood sweetheart Maria Emilia Ferrero.

Khalifa, who boasts more than 26 million followers on Instagram, took to X to shoot the rumours down.

"To clear things up: I’m not dating anybody, and if I was, it certainly wouldn’t be someone not old enough to remember where they were on 9/11," Khalifa wrote on the platform.

Khalifa is a big football fan, having been snapped in a West Ham shirt, and considers David Beckham, Zinedine Zidane and - bizarrely - former Huddersfield and Australia midfielder Aaron Mooy among her all-time favourite players.

"He's like the Kawhi Leonard of football," Khalifa told AFTV of Mooy in 2019. "He doesn't look like him but he acts like him. He’s kind of camera shy, he’s a little goofy but you never see it. I don’t know, he reminds me of him."

Having just helped Argentina move closer to World Cup qualification by beating Peru, Alvarez will return to Spain for Atletico Madrid duty. Diego Simeone's side host Alaves on Saturday afternoon.
