City have been locked in battle with the English top-flight over at least 115 charges, though it has been reported the case may involve as many as 130. City Football Group, the company that owns the club, released its latest accounts which show the whopping £30.6m sum City spent on legal fees up to the end of the 2023-24 season - an increase of almost £11m spent the previous year.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
The Sun reports that the money is the running total of the club's legal costs in their bid to prove their innocence in the face of the financial fair play charges. A verdict is expected in the coming weeks, with many calling for the Premier League giants to be given a severe punishment should they be found guilty, going so far as to demand they be relegated from the top-flight.
City are hoping the massive figures they've spent on lawyers will end in a favourable verdict. While they wait for the ruling, Pep Guardiola's side will take on Leicester on Wednesday.
