    On Friday evening City star Kelly announced her engagement to her long-term partner Scott Moore. The pair were enjoying a romantic pre-Christmas trip to see the Northern Lights, providing the perfect setting for Scott to pop the question.

    Kelly posted photos of her and Scott posing beneath the stunning Northern Lights, with the 24-year-old showing off her diamond engagement ring. The caption read: "The easiest yes. Here's to forever with you."

    City and England stars were quick to congratulate their teammate.

    Alex Greenwood commented on the post: "Yessss use 2, congratulations so happy for you both," while Deyna Castellanos said, "Baby girl!!! Congrats!" Lauren Hemp said: Wowww congrats! Sick pictures."

    City goalkeeper Khiara Keating commented, "I told youuuuuuuu!!" suggesting she suspected Kelly's partner would propose during the trip.

    After shooting to fame in 2022 by scoring the winning goal in the European Championship final, 2023 has been quite the year for Kelly. The winger scored the winning penalty to beat Brazil in La Finalissima at Wembley, starred for the Lionesses at the World Cup, toyed with Manchester United at Old Trafford and has now got engaged.

    Kelly will have a wedding to prepare for, but that won't distract her from helping City fight for the WSL title. Her first game back after the WSL winter break will be a FA Women's Cup meeting with Durham on January 14.
