    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Martinez, who won the Yashin Trophy two years in a row, was named The Best FIFA Men's Goalkeeper in 2022 and 2024, and won the FIFA World Cup with Argentina, has quite a few suitors, including United and Saudi Pro League clubs. While United are seeking to bolster their goalkeeping department, clubs in Saudi Arabia can offer a lucrative deal to the 32-year-old. In the case of Atletico, Oblak has been rumoured to be linked with other clubs. Hence, if the Slovenian decides to bid farewell, Diego Simeone’s side might go after Martinez, who will turn 33 this year.
