  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Throughout the early stages of this season Caicedo has silenced his critics, of which there were many after he had an underwhelming debut season at Chelsea, despite the Blues investing a substantial sum in the Ecuadorian.

However, this campaign under new coach Enzo Maresca, Caicedo has looked significantly more comfortable, and that may in part be to the new development in his love-life.

Caicedo met model Salazar aged 17 when the Ecuador international was playing for Independiente del Valle in his home country, and the two embarked on a romantic journey together that has now passed the five-year mark.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Caicedo is Chelsea's second most expensive signing ever, with his £100 million ($129m) fee eclipsed only by that of the £107m ($138m) paid for midfield partner Enzo Fernandez. However, should Chelsea pay the full £15m ($19m) in add-ons, he would move to top spot.

WHAT NEXT FOR CAICEDO AND CHELSEA?

Caicedo will be hoping to maintain his rich run of form when Chelsea host London rivals Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday. The Blues sit in fourth, a point ahead of the Gunners, and will be hoping to increase that cushion with a win.

The 23-year-old is a guaranteed starter alongside Romeo Lavia, and he will likely be instrumental if Chelsea are to come away with a result.
