'Calm down!' - Bukayo Saka told he's 'not on same level' as Vinicius Junior & Kylian Mbappe as ex-Arsenal star claims 'English people get too excited about their players'

The 23-year-old has been a pivotal player for the Gunners, scoring 10 goals and registering a whopping 14 assists in 28 games this season, making him their second top scorer and number one assist maker in all competitions.

The England international was involved as the north London side ran out 3-0 winners against Mbappe, Vinicius and Co. in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final last week. Despite his side's impressive display, ex-Gunners defender William Gallas has reminded Saka that he is not as good as the French and Brazilian attackers.

"Bukayo Saka had a great performance after his long injury, but I don't think he's on the same level of Vinicius Junior or Kylian Mbappe yet. He does have the potential to do it," he told Slingo. "English people get too excited about their players, but sometimes you need to calm down, don't put too much pressure on the players like Saka. He has to be a champion and win trophies to be on the same level as Vinicius Jr and Mbappe, who have won the Champions League and World Cup."

He added: "When Vinicius Junior is in his best form, he's unstoppable. You can't compare him to Bukayo Saka. Everyone looks into statistics, why don't we compare their trophies? Vinicius probably deserved the Ballon d'Or at his best, where was ranked 21st, come on. I need to see Saka performing the way he is for a whole season, keeping that same level and he definitely has the potential to do it."

Sitting 13 points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool, the Champions League is Arsenal's only hope of ending the season with a trophy and they will be confident of making it through to the last four heading into the midweek clash
