    WHAT EVRA SAID

Evra said: "People are being really hard. I love Arteta – Mikel is a great friend. I think people have no problem with Arsenal players, people have a problem with their fans. They believe in anything. I even said I’m not sure I would do business with an Arsenal fan because they will promise you a lot of things. And it’s banter because people know. They say I’m anti-Gunners – I love Arsenal and you can’t hate your babies. It’s impossible to hate your babies."

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Evra went on to claim that, for Arsenal, their defeat was the same old story of not being able to get over the line and win silverware. He said: "It’s always said the same story. So I’m sorry, it’s not like I’m trying to create the buzz with you guys, but I love you. Let’s get ready for the next season and I hope, for you, that Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur or Chelsea don’t win a trophy this year."
