USMNT transfers: Could Weston McKennie finally be out at Juve?

  1. Man City have already won the winter window with Guehi deal

January is a notoriously bad time for buyers because nobody ever wants to sell top talent midway through the season. There are, however, exceptions to the rule. Some clubs need to raise funds to balance the books, while others can be left with not option but to unload an unhappy player who has made it clear that he wants to join a stronger side.

  2. Inside Brentford: How Andrews is inspiring top-four charge

Every summer, Brentford seem to dance with death. They almost always sell off at least one of their best players and don't usually replace them, at least in a like-for-like sense. Yet since they were promoted to the Premier League in 2021, the Bees have never really faced the threat of relegation back to the Championship. It was, however, only this past summer that they were widely tipped to battle the drop.

  3. Rose Lavelle named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year

Rose Lavelle has been voted the 2025 U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, earning the honor for the first time in her decorated international career. The award caps a standout year in which the longtime U.S. Women’s National Team midfielder played a central role for both club and country. Lavelle overcame a delayed start to the season following ankle surgery.

  4. Man Utd teen out to build family dynasty after rejecting City

Darren Fletcher played alongside twin brothers Rafael and Fabio da Silva while at Manchester United, but little did he know that many years later, his own twin sons would be vying for a place in the Red Devils' first team. Fletcher opted against playing either of his sons, Jack or Tyler, during his brief spell as interim coach, perhaps out of fear of accusations of nepotism.

Parma's Cremaschi wins U.S. Young Male POTY award

Benjamin Cremaschi has been recognized as U.S. Soccer's Young Male Player of the Year. The award comes as a result of a standout 2025 that saw Cremaschi become just the second U.S. player to claim a Golden Boot as the leading scorer at a major youth tournament. The midfielder, who came from the Inter Miami academy, is currently on loan at Parma.

  2. Man Utd backed to finally sign Palmer under USMNT boss

Manchester United are being backed to finally sign boyhood Red Devils fan Cole Palmer if they can lure the Chelsea star’s former manager, Mauricio Pochettino, back to England. A new permanent boss is required at Old Trafford following the dismissal of Ruben Amorim. Various names have been added to that pot, including an Argentine tactician that is currently working with the USMNT.

Expert Opinion & Analysis

  1. Yamal finishes the job as Barca avoid Copa del Rey shock

Barcelona avoided a Copa del Rey upset thanks to second-half goals from Ferran Torres and Lamine Yamal in a 2-0 win. A day after bitter rivals Real Madrid were dumped out of the competition by second division side Albacete, Hansi Flick's men overcame a stern examination against similar opposition on Thursday. The cup holders were indebted to substitute Fermin Lopez as they reached the quarter-finals in battling fashion.

  2. Will self-destructive Osimhen ever achieve full potential?

Back in the summer of 2023, Victor Osimhen was the most in-demand striker in world football. He'd just spearheaded Napoli's run to their first Scudetto in 33 years, netting 26 goals in 32 games to become the first African player ever to finish as Serie A top scorer, and had pretty much every elite club in Europe knocking on his door. For a 24-year-old with talent and drive, it seemed like the start of something truly special.

  3. Could Luis Enrique really leave PSG this summer?

While effectively ruling himself out of the running to take over at Real Madrid, Jurgen Klopp pointed out that "the coaching market is being reshuffled" right now - because Xabi Alonso isn't the only manager to lose his job at an elite European club since the turn of the year. On January 1, less than six months after lifting the Club World Cup, Enzo Maresca was fired by Chelsea after publicly criticising his employers. Just four days later, Manchester United also got rid of Ruben Amorim for speaking out of turn.

  4. Alonso's back on the market - & Slot's seat just got hotter

Arne Slot can't catch a break right now. Barnsley at home in the FA Cup should have made for a comfortable Monday evening for the under-pressure Liverpool boss. Dominik Szoboszlai had other ideas, though. Having earlier broken the deadlock with a thumping strike from distance before Jeremie Frimpong netted his first goal at Anfield with an equally emphatic finish, the Hungarian gifted Liverpool's third-tier opponents a goal just before the break with one of the most inexplicable errors you'll ever see on a football field.

  5. Garnacho keeps Chelsea alive after Sanchez shockers

Chelsea face a tall order to reach the Carabao Cup final after a shocking performance from goalkeeper Robert Sanchez handed Arsenal a 3-2 victory in the first leg of their semi-final. The Spaniard made two avoidable mistakes which allowed Ben White and Viktor Gyokeres to score, though Alejandro Garnacho bagged twice ether side of a Martin Zubimendi effort to ensure the Blues take some hope into the return leg at the Emirates Stadium.

  1. Ronaldo doubles Messi’s earnings to top highest-paid chart

Sportico have released their annual highest-paid athletes list, with Cristiano Ronaldo sitting at the top of that chart. The Portuguese GOAT earned double what eternal rival Lionel Messi pulled in over the course of 2025, with the Al-Nassr forward making $260 million (£194m). There are 13 football players in the top 100, with Brazilian icon Neymar tumbling down the standings.

  1. Liverpool icon hits out at Salah for 'not prove his worth' comments

Former Liverpool midfielder Didi Hamann has hit out at Mohamed Salah after the Reds star suggested he had nothing left to prove in an explosive interview following Liverpool's 3-3 draw with Leeds United in December. The 33-year-old has spent the past month away at AFCON and Hamann says it might be best for player and club to part ways, slamming the Egyptian's comments that he doesn't want to 'fight every day' for his position at Anfield.

  2. Revealed: Mammoth sum spent by Guardiola on defenders

Manchester City are closing in on the signing of Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace after agreeing a deal in principle worth £20m. If completed, Guehi would become the 25th defender recruited by City since Guardiola took charge in July 2016. Data shows the deal would push the club’s total spending on defenders during that period to £1.379bn, comfortably the highest among the traditional top-six sides. Over the same timeframe, Arsenal have signed 19 defenders, Chelsea 20, Tottenham 17, Manchester United 15 and Liverpool 10.

  3. Carrick slams door shut on Maguire exit despite PL interest

Manchester United's interim head coach Michael Carrick has slammed the door on a January exit for Harry Maguire, with reports stating that the Red Devils have rejected 'several approaches' for the England defender this month. AC Milan and multiple Premier League clubs are said to have shown an interest but United will reject all approaches for the 32-year-old this month, with his current contract expiring at the end of the season.

  4. Chelsea real winners of Guehi move to Man City

Chelsea are set for a huge benefit from Marc Guehi's transfer to Manchester City. The Crystal Palace captain is on the verge of linking up with Pep Guardiola at the Etihad for the second half of the season and beyond, as the Cityzens look to close the gap to Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table. The Gunners are six points clear of their nearest challengers, who are suffering a defensive injury crisis.

  1. Stanway set for WSL return as Bayern Munich exit confirmed

Lionesses star Georgia Stanway has confirmed that she will leave Bayern Munich this summer, paving the way for a potential return to England and the Women's Super League. The midfielder's next destination has not been officially revealed just yet but Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for the two-time European Championship winner, who previously spent seven years at Manchester City.
