How to watch today's Angel City vs Houston Dash NWSL game: Live stream, TV channel, and start time

Angel City FC (6–11–6, 11th place) welcome the Houston Dash (7–10–6, 10th) to Los Angeles on Sunday for a clash that’s all about pride—and a faint glimmer of playoff hope.

Angel City’s most recent outing was a tough 0–1 home defeat to Kansas City Current on October 7, when Michelle Cooper struck the decisive goal that silenced the L.A. crowd. The Dash, meanwhile, battled to a 1–1 draw against Orlando Pride, with defender Malia Berkely finding the net to earn her side a point.

When these two sides last met on April 12, Angel City came out firing, claiming a 3–1 victory at home, a result that still stands as one of their brighter moments this season. Historically, the matchup has been fairly even, with L.A. holding a 2–1–4 (W–L–D) record against Houston.

At 24 points, ACFC are clinging to the slimmest mathematical chance of sneaking into the playoffs. But let's be real, the road ahead is nearly impossible. They’d have to win out, finish with 33 points, and pray that both Racing Louisville and San Diego Wave stumble hard down the stretch. Even then, Houston and North Carolina Courage would also need to drop points.

Here, GOAL brings you everything you need to know about how to watch, including TV channel, streaming details and more.

Angel City FC team news

It's been a bumpy ride for Angel City FC this season. Sitting at 6-6-10 with just four games left on the calendar before the NWSL playoffs roll around in November, the Los Angeles side finds itself fighting to keep the flicker of postseason hope alive.

The recent run hasn't done them any favors either. Four straight defeats have left the club reeling, each loss tightening the noose on their already slim playoff prospects. Their latest stumble against Racing Louisville summed up what's been a frustrating stretch; games they had to win have instead slipped through their fingers.

Adding to their woes, Alyssa Thompson's midseason move to Chelsea came at the worst possible moment. Losing a player of her caliber in the heart of the campaign was a gut punch, forcing Angel City to rethink their lineup and tactics on the fly.

Credit where it's due, though, the front office hasn't stood still. The acquisition of Nealy Martin from NJ/NY Gotham FC gave the squad a much-needed boost in midfield stability and ball progression. Her composure and distribution have brought a bit of rhythm back to a side that had lost its tempo.

And now, there's a new spark on the horizon. The arrival of Hina Sugita from the Portland Thorns could be the catalyst Angel City desperately needs. Known for her vision and precise passing, Sugita was a vital cog in Portland's possession game, and she brings that same playmaking quality to Los Angeles.

Houston Dash team news

The Houston Dash entered the 2025 season with a fresh face at the helm in Fabrice Gautrat, and the difference has been night and day compared to last year's struggles. In 2024, Houston languished at the bottom of the table with a 5–5–16 record, but this season has been a clear step forward.

Since returning from the summer break, Houston has looked like a team reborn, dropping just two of their last ten matches. There's a newfound resilience about them, and that grit has been the backbone of their late-season push. One of the major catalysts for that improvement has been forward Yazmeen Ryan, a December trade pickup from NJ/NY Gotham FC. The former TCU standout has wasted no time making her mark, leading the team with four goals while chipping in two assists. Her energy and eye for goal have been exactly what Houston's attack needed.

The Dash also made a smart late-season addition in Anna Heilferty, acquired from Washington Spirit in September. The defender, who once played a key role in Washington's 2021 title-winning season, endured two brutal ACL injuries that kept her sidelined for nearly two years. Her comeback story turned poetic on September 19 when she drew a penalty, coolly converted by Ryan, to seal a crucial win over Chicago Red Stars.
