Mitchell Parker will take the hill for the Washington Nationals on Friday as they welcome the Milwaukee Brewers and slugger Andrew Vaughn to town for the opener of a weekend set.

The Brewers come into this one looking to bounce back after their three-game win streak was halted in dramatic fashion, they were routed by the Cubs in the finale of a key divisional clash between the top two squads in the NL Central on Wednesday. Despite the loss, Milwaukee entered Thursday at 64-44, clinging to a narrow one-game lead over Chicago atop the division.

On the other side, the Nationals continue to face growing pains. Washington suffered its second straight defeat after getting roughed up by the Astros in Wednesday’s rubber match down in Houston. With a 44-64 mark heading into Thursday, the Nats remain anchored at the bottom of the NL East, sitting 17.5 games adrift of the first-place Mets.
