The Craig Berube era in Toronto got off to a bright start, but the Toronto Maple Leafs ultimately disappointed again in the Stanley Cup playoffs. Replacing Sheldon Keefe as the head coach, Berube led his side to its first Atlantic Division title since the league realigned in 2013. It was also their first division championship in a standard 82-game regular season. They currently boast the longest active playoff appearance streak, having made the playoffs every year since 2017.

Unfortunately, none of these records mattered when they met Florida Panthers in the second round of the playoffs after beating the Ottawa Senators. The eventual Stanley Cup champions bested the Maple Leafs in seven games after going down 2-0 early on. It extended Toronto's record-breaking Stanley Cup drought to 57 seasons (58 years).

They do, as ever, remain hopeful of going all the way this season, while boasting some of the best players in the world. Auston Matthews, who replaced the long-standing captain John Tavares last season, had a fantastic campaign. Along with Mitch Marner and William Nylander, they will be hoping to end the drought this season.

The Maple Leafs kick off their preseason action soon, but when does the regular season officially get underway? Plus, where can fans tune in to catch the action? GOAL brings you everything you need to know.

In such cases, the game on ESPN+ is made available to those with a blackout 24 hours after the game ends.

ESPN+ has exclusive rights to 75 games per season. However, a franchise may not feature exclusively on the platform more than eight times per season.
