Miami finally snapped its skid last week with a 27-21 home win over the Jets, though the box score told a different story. The Dolphins were outgained by more than 100 yards but flipped the script with a 3–0 turnover edge, cashing in just enough to get across the finish line. The victory came at a steep price, however, as superstar wideout Tyreek Hill went down with a devastating knee injury that will keep him out for the season. Before the injury, Hill still paced Miami with 67 receiving yards. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was sharp enough, going 17-of-25 for 177 yards and two scores, while De’Von Achane added balance on the ground with 99 rushing yards.

On the flip side, Carolina followed up its feel-good shutout win over Atlanta with a thud, getting smacked 42-13 on the road by New England. The Panthers were buried early, trailing 28-6 at halftime, and never recovered. Ironically, they actually outgained the Patriots 326–307 and played clean football with zero turnovers, but the defense had no answers. Bryce Young threw for 150 yards and a touchdown before giving way to veteran Andy Dalton, while Chuba Hubbard managed just 49 yards on the ground. Rookie first-round pick Tetairoa McMillan continued to flash promise, leading the receiving corps with 62 yards.
