    WHAT PHIL PARKINSON SAID

He said, via The Leader: "It is different to last year. Obviously it started at the end of the season. With the documentary and the first season here, we all knew the ending in the first series when we lost in the play-offs.

"We put so much into that season but the second season was an amazing story purely on the football-side of it - I know the documentary covers so many other angles - with the battle with Notts County.

"This season you had the pre-season tour and then the start of the season I imagine will be in the first few episodes. It is going to be interesting to see how it is all pieced together and how they tell the story of what is a memorable season."

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Wrexham backed up their National League triumph last season - ending 15 years outside the English Football League - with promotion to League One this term. Remarkably, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney's side are just two divisions away from the Premier League - the club's long-term goal.

    WHAT NEXT?

When the team's summer break comes to an end, they will report back for pre-season duty in late June, before heading off to North America in July for friendlies against Bournemouth, Chelsea, and Vancouver Whitecaps.
