'The wait will be worth it' - Injured Romeo Lavia makes pledge to Chelsea fans as he continues recovery

The 20-year-old Belgian talent, who turned down interest from Liverpool to join the Blues, was sidelined due to an ankle injury at the start of the season, delaying his debut by four months.

Lavia finally made his Chelsea debut against Crystal Palace in a 2-1 win, but his appearance was restricted to a 32-minute cameo as he picked up another injury in his quadriceps. Despite the setbacks, Lavia remains optimistic about his comeback, expressing gratitude to supporters for their messages of encouragement. As he navigates his way through the rehabilitation process, Lavia assured fans that his return to the pitch will be worth the wait, offering hope of brighter days ahead.

Lavia posted a message on X that read: "Received a lot of support messages and I wanted to let you know that it means a lot to me. I’m gutted not to be able to help the team, but I’m fully focused on coming back. The wait will be worth it…💙"

As Chelsea prepare for upcoming fixtures, including the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool, Mauricio Pochettino's has recently cast doubt on Lavia's availability in the short-term. Speaking ahead of the Crystal Palace fixture the Argentine manager said: "No. He is not training with the team. He is still recovering. Still not on the pitch."

Chelsea have a busy run of fixtures in February as they are set to play Crystal Palace, Manchester City, and Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League before playing two cup fixtures against Liverpool and Leeds United respectively in the League Cup and FA Cup.
