Getty/GOALRevealed: The 15 players under threat of being ditched by Man Utd as Erik ten Hag plans ruthless clear-out
Erik ten Hag is reportedly planning a ruthless summer clear-out at Manchester United, with up to 15 players on the chopping block.
The Red Devils have brought their six-year wait for major silverware to a close in 2022-23 with Carabao Cup glory, while remaining in contention for an FA Cup triumph and top-four finish in the Premier League, but inconsistency has remained an issue.
United crashed out of the Europa League at the quarter-final stage after suffering a 5-2 aggregate defeat to competition specialists Sevilla, with an error-strewn outing on Spanish soil convincing Ten Hag that he needs to freshen up his ranks.
A mass exodus of talent could now be on the cards at Old Trafford, according to The Times, with the Red Devils ready to free up squad space and funds by parting with a number of established stars and fringe players.

Remains club captain at Old Trafford, but the no-nonsense centre-half was dropped by Ten Hag early in the 2022-23 campaign and may require a fresh start elsewhere after seeing costly mistakes creep into his game.

The Swedish defender has been in Manchester since 2017, but he faces fierce competition for places when everyone is fit and could find it easier to get the regular game time he craves elsewhere.

Appeared to have been written off when Diogo Dalot filled United’s right-back berth, but has played his way back into contention and will hope to convince Ten Hag that no upgrade in his position is required.

The Scotland international midfielder is a home-grown product of United’s famed academy system, but the Red Devils are well-stocked for options in their engine room and there has been talk of interest from afar.

The affable Brazilian has experienced a rollercoaster of emotions in English football, and is now something of a cult hero, but questions have been asked of his value to the collective cause on a regular basis.

Struggles for form and fitness have blighted the French forward’s efforts to become a reliable No.9 and United appear ready to invest heavily in an alternative option to lead their line.

An odd signing when he arrived in 2020 and the Netherlands international has never been able to nail down a regular role, with an unfortunate injury this season leaving him stuck on the sidelines once again.

Joined United in 2011 and is a Premier League title winner, but the versatile former England international has taken in just 13 appearances since 2019 as injury struggles continue to hold him back.

The Manchester native had hoped to make United’s left-back berth his own after making a senior step up, but his development has stalled and there appears to be little future for him at Old Trafford.
GettyAnthony Elanga
Earned senior international recognition with Sweden after stepping out of United’s academy ranks, but the 20-year-old winger has slipped behind the likes of Marcus Rashford, Antony and Jadon Sancho.

Another home-grown star that has been unable to force his way into first-team plans on a regular basis, with a loan spell at Stoke sanctioned during the January transfer window.

The Brazilian arrived from Porto with a reputation for making an impact at both ends of the field, but Luke Shaw has blocked his path and a loan spell at Sevilla is being taken in this season.

Appeared ready to become a mainstay at the heart of United’s defence at one stage, but is now out of sight and mind at Marseille and will have no desire to fill a back-up role with the Red Devils.

Questioned United’s handling of him when heading out on loan to Nottingham Forest and appears unlikely to get the nod as a long-term goalkeeping option despite being an England international.
