    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Coote's court hearing follows on from his sacking by the Professional Game Match Officials Ltd (PGMOL) in December 2024 after videos emerged on social media showing him making derogatory comments about then-Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp and snorting white powder. He subsequently came out as gay and revealed his struggles with his sexuality and drug use. Coote was subsequently banned by UEFA and slapped with an FA charge for his comments about Klopp. He has since been filmed "trying to make an honest living" by delivering parcels for Evri.

  • COURT DATE SET

Coote is now due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates Court on Thursday, September 11, for a first hearing.
