Let’s kick things off in the NBA with the Magic-Celtics matchup. Orlando is coming off a game just yesterday, and their roster keeps getting thinner, so I will construct my build with the assumption that Boston will win comfortably.
No surprise, but Jalen Brown led the way for the Celtics in their last two meetings, dropping 27 and 32 points. He’s averaging 29 PPG this season, so I’m backing him to score more than 26.5 points again in a catch-up mode tonight.
With Paolo Banchero sidelined, Franz Wagner has stepped up as Orlando’s top scorer. Wagner led in their first clash with Boston, and I’m betting he’ll do it again by going over 24.5 points.
Switching gears to the MLS, the Philadelphia Union take on NYCFC in the Eastern Conference semifinals. Philly’s been dominant at home this year (12-2-4), so I’m leaning on them here.
If we’re riding with Philly, we’ll need some goal scorers. Let’s go with Tai Baribo and Milan Iloski, who have both found the back of the net in each of the last two matches.
On to SNF for the Bucs-Rams showdown. Both defenses allow a ton of pass attempts (Rams: 36.4 per game, Bucs: 34), so the wideouts are where the value is.
Keep an eye on Emeka Egbuka to haul in the longest catch of more than 23.5 yards, as nine different WRS have topped 20 yards against the Rams in their last five games. Also, with the Bucs dealing with injuries at the skill positions, I like Tez Johnson to gain more than 68.5 receiving yards.
For the Rams, Davante Adams is a solid pick to score a touchdown. He’s hit paydirt in each of his last four games, racking up seven TDs in that span. Even though he plays RB, I like Kyren Williams to gain more than 78.5 rushing + receiving yards, just like five of the last six RB1s to face the Bucs have done.
