The defending NFC champs, the Eagles, are retooling a bit after losing several core pieces on defense — including Josh Sweat, Brandon Graham, Milton Williams, Darius Slay, Avonte Maddox, Garrett Bradbury, and Isaiah Rodgers. Offensively, Philly is still stacked. Jalen Hurts returns to lead the way after throwing for 2,903 yards and 18 touchdowns while adding another 14 scores on the ground. The Bengals head into the new season with some familiar problems — most notably along the offensive line. With Trent Brown and Alex Cappa gone, there are big questions at the guard spots. The run game also takes a hit after the release of last year’s starter, Zack Moss, and the secondary lost key veterans in Mike Hilton and Vonn Bell. On defense, there's some uncertainty with Trey Hendrickson holding in while seeking a contract extension. To top it off, the team handed the defensive reins to Al Golden, who replaces longtime coordinator Lou Anarumo.
On paper, the offense looks dangerous again. Joe Burrow, who lit up the league with 4,918 yards and 43 TDs to just nine INTs, is back under center. Jake Browning holds down the QB2 role, while Desmond Ridder and rookie Payton Thorne are in a battle for the third spot. Chase Brown now leads the backfield after nearly hitting 1,000 rushing yards last season, with Samaje Perine back in the fold alongside Tahj Brooks and Gary Brightwell, all competing for touches. The wide receiver room is headlined by Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Andrei Iosivas, but the depth behind them remains up for grabs — keep an eye on Jermaine Burton, Charlie Jones, Isaiah Williams, Kendric Pryor, Cole Burgess, and Mitchell Tinsley. Tight end Mike Gesicki is the main man at his position.
