Costa Rica Cruise
Costa Rica cruised into the semifinals of the Gold Cup after crushing Guadeloupe 5-1 in quarterfinal action. Alvaro Saborio put in a barnstorming performance in the demolition, scoring two of the goals. The other four goals were scored by four different players.

Penalty Powers U.S. Through
The U.S. Men's National Team made it past Panama thanks to a penalty in overtime that Kenny Cooper converted calmly. The match was a hard fought battle as both sides dished out plenty of hard tackles, but in the end it was one high boot from Panama that would be decisive and send the U.S. through.
