The Boniface situation is the most pressing concern off the pitch. The Nigerian striker walked off toward the dressing room in the 84th minute against Mainz after Martinez used his final substitution on Jonas Hofmann rather than bringing him on, a decision that visibly frustrated the 25-year-old.
