How to watch today's Yokohama F Marinos vs Liverpool friendly game: Live stream, TV channel, and start time

Liverpool are set to wrap up their pre-season tour in Asia this week with a clash against Japanese outfit Yokohama F. Marinos.

After spending more than a week in the Far East, the Reds faced a stern test against AC Milan last Saturday, falling to a 4-2 defeat at Hong Kong's Kai Tak Sports Park. Now, Arne Slot's men have landed in Japan, shifting focus to the final leg of their summer tour with preparations already underway for their appearance in the J.League World Challenge.

As for their opponents, Yokohama F. Marinos are enduring a tough domestic campaign. Currently languishing in the J1 League's relegation zone and three points adrift of safety, their priority remains top-flight survival. Still, the chance to square off against a Premier League heavyweight like Liverpool is a welcome change of pace, and perhaps a morale booster.

That said, Yokohama have shown signs of a turnaround, stringing together consecutive clean-sheet victories over city rivals Yokohama FC and Nagoya Grampus, suggesting they could pose more of a threat than their league position implies.

Here, GOAL brings you everything you need to know about how to watch, including TV channel, streaming details and more.

Yokohama F.Marinos team news

Yokohama F. Marinos will look to their lively winger Yan Matheus to spark things in the final third, with the Brazilian leading the side in both goals (five) and assists (three) so far. Between the sticks, seasoned shot-stopper Il-Kyu Park continues to be a calming presence.

There are, however, concerns over Kaina Tanimura and Ren Kato, who both picked up knocks during the recent 3-0 win over Nagoya. If they don't recover in time, expect Asahi Uenaka and former Arsenal prospect Ryo Miyaichi to step into the fold.

Liverpool team news

On the Liverpool side, the biggest news surrounds Luis Diaz, who has departed the pre-season tour to finalize a £65.5 million switch to Bayern Munich. His absence could open up space on the wing, although Darwin Nunez remains a question mark after missing the Milan clash due to injury. Meanwhile, Joe Gomez has flown home to receive treatment for an Achilles issue, leaving the Reds short on central defensive options.

There's optimism, though, as new recruit Hugo Ekitike may finally make his debut after missing out at the weekend due to fitness. Back on home soil, Wataru Endo is also eyeing a return to the pitch after shaking off illness, and there's a welcome boost with Alexis Mac Allister potentially featuring for the first time this summer following his return to full training.
