Reign FC returns to Lumen Field this Sunday, looking to reset and regroup when they host Racing Louisville FC.
The Reign are eager to put last weekend's setback behind them, a frustrating defeat at the hands of the Washington Spirit in which they struggled to advance into the attacking third or generate clear chances. They'll also want to make their home ground more of a fortress; their record at Lumen Field sits at 3-3-3 so far this campaign.
Even with some rocky results of late, the Reign remain inside the playoff picture, and a win this weekend could lift them as high as fourth place. The challenge is finding consistency and momentum at just the right stage of the season. Louisville, meanwhile, fell 2-1 to Portland last time out, a performance that flashed plenty of promise but also revealed areas to tighten up.

Team news & squads
Seattle Reign FC team news
Seattle Reign FC will once again have to juggle their lineup this weekend with several key players sidelined. Lynn Biyendolo remains out as she continues to recover from a knee injury, while Ryanne Brown is still on the season-ending injury list with a knee issue of her own. The Reign will also be without forward Veronica Latsko, who is nursing a lower leg problem and has likewise been placed on the SEI list.
To add to the concerns, goalkeeper Cassie Miller is unavailable as she works back from a leg injury. It's a tough blow for a side looking to build momentum, but depth will once again be put to the test.
Racing Louisville team news
Racing's roster hasn't seen a major overhaul since last year, with this offseason focused instead on youth and continuity. They brought in three promising rookies, Katie O’Kane, Ella Hase, and Sarah Weber, all of whom have impressed in their debut campaigns. On top of that, last month's trade for defender Makenna Morris from Washington looks to be a long-term investment, with the 2028 signee already bolstering their backline.
A midfield enforcer having an MVP-calibre season, Taylor Flint dominates in the holding role. She leads the league in tackles, interceptions, and blocks, while her 6ft 1in frame makes her a nightmare on set pieces. She's already chipped in four goals, most from dead-ball situations, and her aerial dominance is unmatched.
A winger with blistering pace and a bag full of tricks, Emma Sears has been Louisville's x-factor in the final third. She can cut inside to fire from distance, glide past defenders into the box, or serve dangerous balls into the area. With seven goals to her name, a new single-season record for the club, she's been one of the most reliable attacking outlets in Louisville's arsenal.
