How to watch today's Manchester United vs Bournemouth pre-season friendly game: Live stream, TV channel, and start time

Chicago's Soldier Field sets the stage for round two of the Premier League Summer Series as Manchester Unitedlock horns with Bournemouthin what promises to be a gripping preseason clash.

United are coming off a morale-boosting 2-1 win over a side that's often troubled them, West Ham United. Bruno Fernandes was the star of the show, bagging both goals and reminding fans just how vital he is to the Red Devils' attacking machine. Bournemouth, on the other hand, were made to wait against Everton, but once they found their rhythm, they cruised to a 3-0 victory thanks to second-half goals from Philip Billing, Dango Ouattara, and Daniel Adu-Adjei.

With both teams opening their tour with wins, Wednesday's matchup could prove decisive in the race for preseason silverware. The Cherries have had United's number in recent meetings. They're unbeaten in the last four encounters, including a tense draw back in April that saw Rasmus Hojlund salvage a point late on. This one's got all the makings of another tight affair.

Most of the familiar faces from last season are still around for both sides, although Manchester United have freshened up their frontline, while Bournemouth had to patch up their backline after key exits.

Bryan Mbeumo, one of United's marquee signings this summer, missed the clash with West Ham and won't be fit in time for this one either. However, there's optimism he'll get his first minutes this weekend against Everton.

Manchester United team news

Bruno Fernandes thrived in an advanced midfield role last time out, working in tandem with Matheus Cunha, just behind Hojlund up top. There's a chance Noussair Mazraoui and Joshua Zirkzee could return from minor knocks, but Lisandro Martinez and Andre Onana remain sidelined. The absence of Onana gives Altay Bayındır another shot to impress between the sticks.

Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw, both of whom came off the bench at MetLife Stadium, are pushing for starting spots in Ruben Amorim's XI this time around.

Bournemouth team news

As for Bournemouth, the departures of Kepa Arrizabalaga, Dean Huijsen, and Milos Kerkez have prompted some smart recruitment. New signings Djorde Petrovic and Adrien Truffert were handed starts against Everton and should keep their places here. Meanwhile, centre-back Illia Zabarnyi remains with the squad in the U.S. despite ongoing interest from PSG.

Philip Billing, who impressed off the bench last weekend, is expected to be rewarded with a start. Midfield talent Alex Scott, who returned to action at the Under-21 Euros after a jaw injury, is also in line for his first preseason start.
