Everton vs Crystal Palace Preview: Team News, H2H, early injury news, probable lineups, tickets, odds and more

Everton prepare for a huge test as they host the only unbeaten side in the Premier League this season, with Crystal Palace coming to Hill Dickinson Stadium on Sunday.

The Toffees came crashing to the ground after a decent start to the Premier League season. David Moyes' side are winless in four games in all competitions. The early-season optimism vanished as they suffered a tame 2-0 loss to Wolves in the Carabao Cup. A Jarrod Bowen equaliser denied them another three points at home as they are yet to taste a defeat at their new home ground. Everton's same old problems of scoring goals and seeing out games are haunting them as neither Beto nor their new signing, Thierno Barry, are amongst the goals, with late individual mistakes costing them dearly.

Oliver Glasner and Crystal Palace are the hottest team in Europe right now, with their unbeaten streak of 18 being the highest in the top five leagues and twice as good as the team in second (Barcelona with 9). This time last year, they were rock bottom in the league without a win. Fast forward 365 days, and they slew Liverpool with an excellent performance. An early goal from Ismaila Sarr saw them grind out an incredibly disciplined defensive display. The Eagles could've pulled clear if not for their wasteful finishing. They flipped the script by scoring a late winner through Eddie Nketiah to stand as the only unbeaten team in the league. Glasner already has his name in Palace folklore by lifting two trophies. By avoiding defeat on Sunday, he could also lead them to their highest-ever unbeaten run, surpassing Bert Head's streak of 18 unbeaten in 1969.

Everton vs Crystal Palace Key Matchups

Jack Grealish vs Daniel Munoz - Grealish revitalised himself on Merseyside with a lot of freedom under Moyes. He is roaming the entire pitch to create chances with ease. Grealish will collide head-on with Munoz, who will run down the right flank all game long. Despite a slow start, Munoz is reaching top form at the right time.

Iliman Ndiaye vs Tyrick Mitchell - Ndiaye is Everton's leading goal scorer with just two to his name. The Senegalese international is a tricky customer when it comes to dribbling, but his final third product often leaves one wanting more. Mitchell, with his new goalscoring touch, will be happy to lock Ndiaye down and move to the other side.

James Tarkowski vs Jean-Philippe Mateta - In a true clash of titans, two of the strongest and most physical players in the league go head-to-head against each other. Tarkowski's instincts to dive into tackles would be tested when Mateta constantly engages him in duels. Their battles during set pieces and close control play would provide ultimate drama.

Everton vs Crystal Palace Prediction

This is a game neither side wants to lose, but Palace would love to inflict Everton's first loss at their new stadium to avenge their nine-game winless streak against the Toffees. Crystal Palace will fancy their chances through their superior bench depth and get the result.

GOAL's Prediction: Everton 1-2 Crystal Palace

Everton vs Crystal Palace Odds

Everton holds the home ground advantage, and also their superior record against the Eagles made the bookmakers name them as favourites, pricing their win at 8/5. Crystal Palace still carry the underdog tag with their win priced at 19/10 and a draw priced at 12/5.

Moyes will be without the services of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who picked up a fifth yellow card in six games last weekend. This might prompt Moyes to deploy Grealish centrally and give a start to the energetic Tyler Dibling. Jarrad Branthwaite's return to full team training is not materialising anytime soon as the manager banks on his senior centre-back duo. The rest of the lineup might go unchanged.

Predicted Lineup: Pickford; O'Brien, Tarkowski, Keane, Mykolenko; Garner, Gueye; Dibling, Grealish, Ndiaye; Beto

Glasner would be tempted to hand a start to Nketiah, the match-winner from the previous weekend. He might get a start ahead of the impressive Yeremy Pino, who is yet to register a goal or assist. Managing minutes would be on his mind with midweek fixtures becoming a regularity now. Cheikh Doucoure is the only senior absentee due to an injury.

Predicted Lineup: Henderson; Richards, Lacroix, Guehi; Munoz, Wharton, Kamada, Mitchell; Pino, Sarr; Mateta.

Moyes was helping Everton survive in the league after a terrible start under the previous regime. His Everton side visited Selhurst Park to build on a positive draw in the Merseyside Derby. Beto opened the scoring before Mateta equalised for the hosts. Charly Alcaraz scored an 80th-minute winner to seal all three points for his side and even earn him a permanent move to the club.
