According to Florian Plettenberg, Bayern are prepared to offer Diaz a long-term contract running until 2029 or 2030 as the Bundesliga champions step up their interest in the Liverpool winger amid competition from Barcelona.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Diaz is understood to be open to leaving Anfield this summer if the right offer materialises and is aware of Bayern’s concrete interest. However, as it stands, there is no agreement in place between the Bavarians and the Colombia international, nor have formal negotiations begun between Bayern and Liverpool. Despite previously turning down approaches, Liverpool are still believed to be open to selling Diaz even though the player remains under contract until 2027, but the club remains adamant on offloading him only if they receive bids around €70–80 million (£60-68m/$70-82m).
DID YOU KNOW?
Earlier on Friday, BILD reported that Die Roten had tabled an opening offer worth €52 million (£45m/$60m) which fell well below the Reds' reported valuation of £68m. It hasn't been an easy summer for Vincent Kompany's side, who lost the race for Florian Wirtz to Liverpool. Their efforts to sign Stuttgart sensation Nick Woltemade also seem to lead to nowhere after their €40m bid for the German was rejected. However, with almost two months to go before the transfer window shuts, Bayern can be hopeful of having a successful summer of signings. In recent days, they have been linked with names such as Eberechi Eze, Xavi Simons and Christopher Nkunku to reinforce their attack.
