The supporters felt the former PSL Player of the Year would be playing for a top team now had he stayed put in Europe

Fans have blamed former Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane for ‘misleading’ Percy Tau into joining Egyptian giants Al Ahly at the expense of a European team.

Tau had signed for Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion in 2018 but was loaned out to Belgian sides Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, Club Brugge and Anderlecht after struggling to adapt to life in the English South Coast before Mosimane lured him to Al Ahly in 2021.

However, following the transfer of Bafana Bafana forward Lyle Foster to English Championship leaders Burnley on Wednesday, fans feel Tau would also be playing at a bigger team had he stayed put in Europe.
