How to watch today's Porto vs Benfica Liga Portugal game: Live stream, TV channel, and start time

Still dusting themselves off from their midweek Champions League setback against Chelsea, Benfica are thrust right back into the fire this Sunday as they lock horns with eternal rivals Porto in a mouthwatering Primeira Liga showdown.

The stakes couldn't be higher: Porto, perfect so far this season, are gunning to stretch their early advantage to six points at the top, while Benfica are desperate to steady the ship and keep their title chase on track.

Porto are riding a wave of confidence. After opening their Europa League campaign with a narrow 1-0 victory over Salzburg on September 25, the Dragoes followed up with another gritty European triumph, edging Red Star Belgrade 2-1 at the Estadio do Dragao on Thursday.

Benfica, on the other hand, left London empty-handed as they slumped to a 1-0 loss to Chelsea, a defeat that stung given how well Jose Mourinho's men have handled domestic business. The Eagles have picked up 17 points from seven league outings, winning five and drawing two (against Santa Clara and Rio Ave), leaving them third — just one point shy of Sporting Lisbon.

Here, GOAL brings you everything you need to know about how to watch, including TV channel, streaming details and more.

FC Porto team news

Porto enter this crucial clash with a few lineup concerns. Right-back Martim Fernandes is suspended following his red card against Arouca, paving the way for Alberto Costa to step into the back line. Up front, Samu Aghehowa, who was an unused substitute against Red Star, could reclaim his spot if deemed fully fit, potentially sending Deniz Gul back to the bench.

Defensive stalwart Jakub Kiwior is expected to return to the starting XI after being rested in midweek, while both Borja Sainz and Victor Froholdt should be back in from the opening whistle. Keep an eye on Mora, though — his late heroics last time out have certainly strengthened his case for a start.

Injuries continue to nag at Porto, with Luuk de Jong and Neuhen Perez still sidelined, while Tomas Perez remains away on international duty with Argentina’s U-20 squad.

Benfica team news

Over on the Benfica side, long-term casualties Alexander Bah and Manu Silva remain unavailable with cruciate ligament injuries, and Bruma joins them in the treatment room, nursing an Achilles injury. To make matters worse, Gianluca Prestianni is also away representing Argentina's youth team.

Leading the line once again will be Vangelis Pavlidis, who has been in red-hot domestic form; his brace against Gil Vicente last week took his season tally to five, and he’ll be keen to add to that against the league leaders.

Leandro Barreiro could get the nod in midfield after impressing off the bench in midweek, while Andreas Schjelderup is pushing to start on the flank ahead of Dodi Lukebakio, who has struggled to find his spark in recent outings.
