North Texas Mean Green team news

For North Texas, Drew Mestermaker has been efficient and productive, completing 68% of his passes for 1,247 yards and 11 touchdowns. He’s also chipped in 65 rushing yards and a pair of scores with his legs. He wasn’t at his sharpest in the win over South Alabama, finishing 14-of-26 for 234 yards and a touchdown with no turnovers. Running back Caleb Hawkins stole the show in that outing, piling up 140 rushing yards and two touchdowns while also contributing two receptions for 78 yards and another score. Mackenzie McGill leads the rushing attack with 63 carries for 318 yards and four touchdowns, while Miles Coleman has added 219 yards on 23 carries. Hawkins has been a major spark, racking up 307 yards on just 7.3 yards per carry with seven trips to the end zone.

South Florida Bulls team news

USF quarterback Byrum Brown has been the engine of the Bulls’ offense, completing 61% of his passes for 1,194 yards with 10 touchdowns to go along with four interceptions. He’s been just as dangerous on the ground, leading the team with 64 carries for 282 yards and three rushing scores. Wideout Chas Nimrod has emerged as his top target, hauling in 19 receptions for 421 yards and three touchdowns. Brown was electric in the win over Charlotte, throwing for 211 yards and four touchdowns (despite two interceptions) while also rushing for 162 yards and another score.

However, USF is dealing with some concerns in the backfield, as running backs Cartevious North (166 yards, 2 TDs) and Tray Kinkle are both questionable due to undisclosed injuries.
