Two sides expected to be fighting on opposite ends of the Turkish Super Lig spectrum go head-to-head this week as Galatasaray welcome Fatih Karagümrük to Rams Park.
Fresh off clinching their 25th Turkish league crown last season, Galatasaray were a dominant force from start to finish, and expectations around Rams Park are sky-high for another title charge in 2025-26. Their preseason form suggested they’re ready to deliver again, racking up four wins and a draw, and they carried that momentum into the new campaign with a convincing 3-0 away triumph over Gaziantep last week.
Karagumruk, meanwhile, are back in the top flight after just a year away, having battled their way through the playoffs despite an underwhelming second-tier campaign. Survival will be the top priority for Marcel Licka's men, and they'll know they're up against it here. Their preseason offered little encouragement — one win from three friendlies, and this trip to Galatasaray marks their first taste of Super Lig action this term after their opening fixture was postponed.

Team news & squads
Galatasaray team news
Galatasaray head into the new campaign looking even more formidable than they were last season. The headline news for supporters is the confirmation that Victor Osimhen is staying put. After smashing in 26 league goals last term, the prolific striker has now penned a permanent deal with the Turkish powerhouse.
Adding more firepower, the club pulled off a coup by landing Leroy Sane on a free from Bayern Munich; the German winger chipped in with 11 goals and six assists in 30 Bundesliga outings last year.
Fatih Karagumruk team news
Karagumruk, on the other hand, appear to have taken a step back. The departure of Wesley Moraes, who netted 21 goals in the 2023/24 season, leaves a massive hole up front. They've also lost Nikola Dovedan, Yigit Efe Demir, and Goktan Gurpuz, further depleting the squad.
Their most eye-catching arrival is Berkay Ozcan from Basaksehir, while other reinforcements include goalkeeper Ivo Grbic from Sheffield United, defender Jure Balkovec from Alanyaspor, Enzo Roco from Al-Riyadh, and striker Tiago Cukur from Roda.
