Looking to shake off the sting of a matchday one penalty shootout loss to Toluca, Columbus Creware back in action Friday night at Lower.com Field, where they'll aim for all three points against a confident Pueblaside.
Wilfried Nancy's squad had the game in their hands earlier this week, storming out to a two-goal advantage before letting it slip away late. Toluca clawed their way back to level terms, eventually edging the Crew in a dramatic shootout. That setback has cranked up the pressure heading into matchday two, especially with Los Camoteros flying high after a commanding 3-0 dismantling of New York City FC, which currently puts Puebla top of the group.

Team news & squads
Columbus Crew team news
The Crew emerged from Tuesday's clash relatively unscathed on the injury front, but they'll still be without key pieces. Mohamed Farsi remains sidelined with a back issue, while Nicholas Hagen and Rudy Camacho are both nursing thigh problems.
Midfield engine Diego Rossi will be keen to make amends after a rollercoaster performance. He opened the scoring against Toluca but missed a golden chance to seal the win from the penalty spot in the 88th minute, and was then denied again during the shootout. Despite that, with 12 MLS goals under his belt this season, Rossi is expected to stay in the XI.
Puebla team news
Puebla, on the other hand, might be nursing a few knocks after their big win. Franco Moyano and Edgar Guerra both exited inside the opening half-hour, while Denilson Paz was taken off late. All three are question marks for Friday, potentially joining Lucas Cavallini on the injured list, a blow that could leave coach Jose Manuel Guevara short on options.
Still, the emergence of Emiliano Gomez offers a silver lining. The young forward came off the bench to great effect, bagging a goal and an assist in Puebla's opener. With Guerra potentially out, Gomez could be in line for a starting role as he looks to keep the momentum rolling in the Leagues Cup.
