Besiktas return to domestic action this weekend, aiming to continue their revival when they host newly promoted Genclerbirligi at Vodafone Park for Round 9 of the Turkish Super Lig.
The Black Eagles entered the international break in decent form, having battled to a 1-1 draw with Galatasaray in the heated Istanbul Derby — a result that extended their unbeaten run to three matches. Their opponents have also hit a purple patch, avoiding defeat in their last three outings to spark hope of survival in their first season back in the top flight.

Team news & squads
Besiktas team news
Besiktas have a few concerns ahead of Saturday's fixture. El Bilal Toure completed the full match against Galatasaray but later picked up a thigh injury, ruling him out of this weekend's clash. The Malian winger is expected to return in time for the high-stakes derby against Fenerbahce on November 2. Demir Ege Tiknaz remains on the sidelines, while Salih Ucan, who has missed the past four games, continues to be monitored by the medical team.
Defensive options are also stretched, as Gokhan Sazdagi will sit out due to suspension after accumulating too many yellow cards. That leaves head coach Yalcin with a defensive dilemma, especially since both Jonas Svensson and Taylan Bulut have been unavailable recently.
Up front, Rafa Silva will once again be the creative spark to watch, with the Portuguese playmaker already netting five league goals from his deeper attacking role. Meanwhile, Abraham has been a bright spot, having contributed to a goal in each of his last three appearances.
Genclerbirligi team news
For the visitors, Franco Tongya returns from suspension after missing their previous match, though Sekou Koita remains banned following his red card against Kayserispor. Head coach Eroglu continues to juggle several absences, with Abdullah Sahindere, Emirhan Unal, Ensar Kemaloglu, and Peter Etebo all unavailable. In addition, midfielder Moussa Kyabou recently underwent ligament surgery and is not expected back until December.
Despite their injury woes, Niang is set to lead the attack once more after getting off the mark last time out from the penalty spot, taking his tally of goal involvements this season to three.
