Tottenham wrap up pre-season with a tough test against Bayern Munich in Germany on Thursday, Thomas Frank's final tune-up before the UEFA Super Cup showdown.
Spurs remain unbeaten under their new head coach, stringing together a solid five-match run that includes wins over Reading and Arsenal and draws with Wycombe, Luton, and Newcastle. But their final friendly in Bavaria will be their sternest challenge yet, as they square off with Bundesliga kings Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena in the Telekom Cup.
The trip comes on the heels of Sunday's 2-2 draw with Newcastle and caps off a busy pre-season schedule that's taken Frank's squad from England to Asia and now into the heart of Germany. But it hasn't all been smooth sailing, injuries are starting to pile up, and with Heung-min Son now gone after a decade of service, Spurs may yet return to the transfer market for reinforcements.
After Thursday’s clash, Spurs turn their attention to a glittering UEFA Super Cup tie against PSG in Italy on August 13, before their Premier League opener at home to Burnley. But first, Frank will be eager to see how his side handles one of Europe's elite, and who steps up in the absence of key stars.

Team news & squads
Bayern Munich team news
Bayern finally kicked into gear following a quiet summer schedule. Vincent Kompany's side cruised to a 2-1 win over Lyon at the weekend, thanks to a second-half brace from new signing Michael Olise, one of them a penalty won by debutant Luis Diaz, who made his first appearance since his move from Liverpool.
The Bundesliga heavyweights rotated heavily at the break, bringing on the likes of Joshua Kimmich, Jonathan Tah, and Serge Gnabry to support a second-half surge. Familiar faces like Harry Kane, Manuel Neuer, Dayot Upamecano, and Kingsley Coman all featured from the start.
One notable absentee remains Jamal Musiala, who's recovering from a fractured leg and dislocated ankle suffered during the Club World Cup. The young midfielder underwent surgery last month and will miss the opening months of the new season.
Tottenham team news
Perhaps the biggest concern from the Newcastle draw for Spurs is James Maddison, who limped off against the Magpies clutching the same knee that sidelined him for last season’s Europa League final. Frank confirmed the injury "looked pretty serious," and the England playmaker now faces a potentially lengthy spell out.
He joins Dejan Kulusevski and Radu Dragusin, both also recovering from knee issues, and Kota Takai, who's managing a foot problem. Meanwhile, Dominic Solanke could return after narrowly missing the Newcastle match, though the staff is being cautious. Destiny Udogie remains a question mark after hurting himself in the warm-up before the Luton draw, with Spurs still evaluating the extent of that problem.
