How to watch Kansas vs Fresno State NCAAF game: Live stream, TV channel, and start time

The college football season gets rolling in Lawrence this Saturday as the Fresno State Bulldogs travel to face the Kansas Jayhawks at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium in a Week 0 clash.

For Fresno State, 2025 marks a year of transition. It’s the first season under new head coach Matt Entz, and the program’s last run through the Mountain West before moving to the Pac-12 in 2026. The Bulldogs stumbled to a 6-7 mark a year ago, and Entz has been tasked with restoring their bite. The 52-year-old is no stranger to winning, having captured multiple national titles at North Dakota State before spending last fall on USC’s staff as linebackers coach and assistant head coach for defense.

Kansas, meanwhile, is aiming to shake off a rollercoaster 2024 campaign. Expectations were sky-high after the Jayhawks cracked the preseason AP Top 25 and chased a third straight bowl bid — something the program has never accomplished. But a 2-6 start, capped by a 16th consecutive defeat to Kansas State, put them on the back foot. KU eventually found its stride with upset wins over ranked foes Iowa State, BYU, and Colorado, only to see its postseason hopes dashed by a regular-season finale loss to Baylor.

Here, GOAL brings you everything you need to know about how to watch Kansas vs Fresno State NCAAF game, plus plenty more.

Kansas Jayhawks vs Fresno State team news & key players

Kansas Jayhawks team news

For Kansas, quarterback Jalon Daniels is back to lead the offense and add to an already impressive résumé (6,751 career passing yards and 1,401 rushing).

Daniels will be working under his third offensive coordinator in as many years, and with only two returning starters around him, plenty of new faces will be in the mix. Key additions include RB Leshon Williams (Iowa), WR Emmanuel Henderson Jr. (Alabama), and WR Cam Pickett (Ball State).

On the other side of the ball, the Jayhawks are also undergoing a facelift. Ten of the 15 defenders who logged 200+ snaps last season are gone, leaving the defensive line as the most seasoned group. Kansas shored up the back seven through the portal, but question marks remain in the secondary. The linebacking corps, however, looks like the anchor of the unit.

Kansas Injury Watch: WR Bryson Canty (leg) is questionable for the opener.

Fresno State Bulldogs team news

The Bulldogs head into 2025 with major roster turnover. Gone are their top two quarterbacks, top three receivers, three starting linemen, and 11 key defensive contributors from last season. T

o patch the holes, Entz leaned heavily on the transfer portal. New arrivals include QB E.J. Warner (Rice), RB Rayshon Luke (Arizona), DL Finn Claypool (who posted 17.5 TFL at Drake), and former five-star edge rusher Korey Freeman, who began his career at USC. Expect Fresno State to lean on its ground attack with Luke, plus returnees Elijah Gilliam and Bryson Donelson handling much of the workload.

Warner — son of NFL Hall of Famer Kurt Warner — has the arm talent to stretch defenses, but his career 37 interceptions remain a red flag. Defensively, the Bulldogs were stout on third downs and against the run last fall, and while undersized, the line has disruptive potential. The secondary looks to be a strength once again.

Fresno State Injury Watch: WR Luke Jones (undisclosed) is listed as questionable for Saturday.
